Customer Reviews

Excellent Speaker system5
Well i got this for my christmas and as it wasn't something on my list i was very pleasantly surprised. First of all the sound quality, it's absolutely fantastic, it goes incredibly loud for such a small and elegant gadget, has an excellent bass and never crackles.

Also no need to worry about which ipod you've got as it fits both my brothers new 80Gb my ipod touch and my mums old second generation nano. It can also be connected up to your tv to give it extra bass but personally i haven't yet done this as my samsung 37inch doesnt really need it

The remote looks great but is also very practical, with clear and easy to use buttons you'll be up and dancing in no time. Along with the obvious buttons; Play/Pause; Skip forward/Back; Volume Up/Down. It also has a useful feature to go up and down between playlists or artists which saves having to get up and select it on your ipod each time you want something new.

Finally the styling. It looks amazing, looking as stylish as the ipods it houses. Its also small and with only a discreet volume up and down button either side of the ipod looks clean a simple too. Im not to sure about other colours as so far I've only seen black but it still will suit and household modern or old.

There are only two flaws with this product and neither would stop e recommending it to you. Firstly if you dont have and ipod then its probably not for you, yes you can plug in your mp3 player using an auxiliary cable but this would defeat the purpose of the simple minimalistic design and to be honest look a bit scrappy. The second flaw comes once you've bought it, when it comes to putting the battery in the remote the manual recommends using a coin, which depending on the size of the coin can chew up the back of the remote (mine did using a pound coin) so be careful when doing this.

Al in all though its a fantastic speaker for all you ipod owners out there and will look great in any home should you choose to purchase it. Highly recommended

Problems with support from Bose4
Let me start by saying this dock has excellent sound quality, looks great and has a quality feel to the build. It arrived and was an immediate hit with my wife and I. However after three weeks it stopped working. There was no response to the remote, neither iPod would charge if seated in the dock and there was no playback.

I contacted the seller who advised that I should get in touch with Bose who would replace it for me. Bose however advised that they do not support these units unless they have been purchased from an authorised reseller and advised me to go back to the seller. Neither Amazon nor the seller were considered "Authorised resellers" according to Bose Customer Support.

Luckily for me the seller (Discount discs) have a more customer facing approach and on passing on the message from Bose they advised me to send it back and they would replace it.

My replacement unit has turned up and so far is working fine. I would reccommend this unit but warn any buyers of the lack of support from the manufacturer. If you are lucky enough to find a seller like Discount discs you may have some comfort should the unit fail. I would imagine however that when it's time to replace this dock I'll look to another manufacturer.

Compact with superb sound quality5
The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is certainly true for this Bose SoundDock. Many iPod docks like this are tinny and the quality of the sound is shallow - not the Bose SoundDock. I'm no audiophile but I know that the sound quality is brilliant - full and rich. The range of volumes are wide, I haven't used to maximum volume, it gets far too loud before I reach the max!

Pros:
Quite compact
Superb sound quality
Charges the iPod as it plays
Simple to use (plug the iPod in, choose your music and set the volume)

Cons:
Pricey (but worth it!)
I've lost the tiny remote control already (whoops)

Recommended if you are willing to pay the price!
