Manufacturer's Description
Full-HD Model with freesat built-in, Wide Viewing Angle, Superb Moving Picture Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities. “freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the V10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.
Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 50 Hz video signal input, 100 Hz Intelligent Frame Creation makes 100 frames/sec from 50 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.
The wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.
Enjoy the Internet contents right on your TV. With VIERA CAST technology, you can enjoy online content such as videos, photos, weather and stock information through an easy-to-use Web interface that's built into the TV. No extra equipment required.
DLNA is a standard that makes digital electronics easier and more convenient to use on a home network. For example, DLNA makes it possible to watch motion and still images stored in your computer on a large-screen TV, or to watch content stored on a hard disc recorder in your living room or bedroom.
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. What's more, the VIERA Image Viewer provides a new photo viewing experience. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

Typically excellent product from Panasonic
I've had many Panasonic products over the years and this TV reinforces the reasons why that is.
Slim and attractive (for a TV) with loads of features, this is without doubt the best set I've owned. It sits beautifully flat against the wall, and produces excellent pictures across the board, but truly comes into it's own in full HD where the images produced are fantastic.
It is a little pricier than other brands, but with Panasonic you do get what you pay for.
For truly excellent sound, you'd need additional speakers to be honest, but we've found it more than meets our needs for all types of viewing requirements.
Highly recommended.
Great Picture but with Fixable Chronic Sound Problem!
Ok - like so many people I decided to upgrade (from an excellent Phillips 32" CRT) to an LCD, and after months of deliberating I decided to go for this slightly more expensive model.
To keep it short, and in line with the other reviewers here, the image quality is simply excellent, both in SD and in HD. The built in freesat and freeview work very well (after you get over the Viera software quirkiness with the menu. like how much space the left side takes up and the channel select confirmation every time you navigate and select via the menu system).
Oodles of other features that will keep you busy for a while.
HOWEVER, and this is a big however, there is a chronic sound problem with this model THAT IS FIXABLE. I will describe the problem first and then the remedy.
It seems at certain frequency transmissions or on higher volumes the plastic casing seems to resonate which causes the sound to distort and it is rather annoying, especially as it is an expensive TV unit. I was genuinely horrified when I turned it on and flipped through a few channels and the sound was basically terrible i.e. distorted by the vibration of the back panel.
To make this better whilst you wait for the real fix, go into sound, turn down the Volume Correction quite a bit until it is almost off, adjust the bass and treble down a bit and then you have to turn the volume up quite a bit to get loud sound, but it helps reduce the distortion. THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX!
Now, I sent Panasonic UK an e-mail describing the issue, and after a couple of weeks they contacted me with an explanation that a physical fix has been identified by Panasonic and to contact your local Panasonic support centre, which is listed on their UK web-site. I did this and the guy came round and fixed it unded warranty - no problems at all and he did a great job.
The fix itself was to completely remove the back panel and fit some special foam padding designed for these tye of speakers, so when the back panel was re-attached it was squashed into the foam slightly and hence all vibration generated is absorbed and no stupid distortion.
This was done a week back now and I am so pleased because I can have the TV up pretty much as loud as I want with the Volume Correction, bass and treble turned back up with no distortion - woo-hoo!
So the upshot is this - before the fix was in place I would have awarded quite simply a 1 star, because spending this sort of money and having poor sound from Panasonic is not acceptable. Aftr the fix I can honestly award a 5 star because I am now very pleased, although Panasonic should really have caught this in their Quality Control before shipping the units commercially!
Anyone experiencing this problem should definitely contact your local Panasonic dealer and get it fixed - you will be so pleased!
Great Picture and Good Looks - Shame About the Sound!
I have been loyal to the Panasonic brand for longer than I can remember and the last couple of TVs, including this one, were purchased based on features and reviews rather than my actually seeing and/or demoing in the flesh.
The picture quality on this TV is everything I expected but the sound is very poor for a TV in this price range. It appears that this is the result of trying to squeeze speakers into the thin casing and is becoming a common complaint with people reviewing this TV. Once wall mounted the sound did improve very slightly but still well below what I'd expect.
I have now invested in an AV Receiver (Denon AVR 1910) and external speakers (Q-Acoustics 5.1 1010i package), more than doubling the intended investment in the TV, so the sound is no longer a problem as the TV's speakers are now redundant. I now have a great setup but one I didn't realise I wanted (or needed!) a couple of months ago,
Picture quality is why I've given 3 stars - if the sound was half decent I would have awarded 5. Unless you are planning on playing sound via external speakers I would think twice before buying this TV.
Probably the last time I will buy Panasonic without seeing and hearing it first.
