Quotes from Amazon reviews of Andrews et al./RAW Workflow from Capture to Archives:
"I am not an expert, but as someone trying to improve my skills with Raw, this book definitely covers the waterfront. I am very pleased. It has a very nice mix of text pictures and examples. Very easy to follow, and offers a wide choice of options for editors, setting up a workflow and covering the subject."
"You'll take all your pix in RAW after reading this. This excellent book presents a thorough, in-depth discussion of capturing, processing and manipulating images from digital cameras...the book is very well written, and makes both the camera and computer concepts and techniques accessible to a wide spectrum of readers, including experienced file photographers new to digital photography, casual digital photographers wanting to improve their camera and/or software skills, and Photoshop users who want to learn more about digital photography."

Customer Reviews
Sensible, broad and easy to follow.
Although I've been shooting raw for 10 months I've always felt my workflow could be better. The best thing about this book is that it acknowledges that different people work in different ways and is designed around 4 main products: Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge. OK, so they're all Adobe products but I suspect that 90% of photographers shooting raw files will have Adobe products in their system.
Canon and Nikon proprietary products are touched on but despite the 2008 publication date the book is short on information and certainly lacks a certain something on Capture NX. Having said that, the author is careful to point out known issues such as Capture NX stopping Adobe Camera Raw working in Elements and he offers a solution rather than leaving the reader to find the soloution on the web. He also provides good, thorough accounts of what the controls do in ACR, how to use them and how to structure workflow in ACR, Elements, PS, Lightroom and then goes on to look at more detailed use. I would throroughly recommend this book to photographers new to raw since he starts literally at the beginning i.e. setting up to shoot raw and the factors that make it different from shooting jpegs - and for the more experience user the book will offer new ideas.
