A good additional handset with a few reservations4
I bought as an additional handset to extend my existing wire-free landline phone capability at home.

With a little fiddling around with the base station and reading the (clear and well laid out) user manual, I managed to get this (additional) handset to connect up with my base station.

It sometimes (as do the other handsets) loses its connection with the base station - say every other week, but I imagine that is not necessarily a problem with the handset and more likely an issue with EMI from other devices or indeed interference from other devices transmitting on the 2.4GHz band, e.g. wireless CCTV cameras, WiFi (802.11g) laptop/router and Sonos system (which uses 2.4GHz also). In fact Sonos' playback seems be interrupted when handset is used in close proximity, so it's likely that.

Upon first connection with base station, I expected the handset to automatically copy over all the directory entries (names and numbers) from that base station, but it didn't. I haven't found a menu item on the handset to do this yet and I imagine having to resort to the user manual to do this.

    Pros
    + Lightweight
    + Good call quality
+ Good reception throughout the house
    + Easy menu system
    + Reasonable speakerphone
    + Reasonable cost

    Cons
    - Although lightweight, it feels low-quality plastic (unlike the original Diverse handsets).
    - Can cause interference with other devices using the same frequency bands (e.g. Sonos system)
    - Not completely intuitive menu and no automatic copy of directory entries (names & numbers) from base station
    - Not the cheapest handset

    Overall 8/10

BT Diverse 6200 handset caller display problem3
The handset pretty much does what you'd expect except display a caller's full number. All I get is the area code which means that it won't display a caller's name associated with a number saved in the directory. All the other DECT phones we have are fine so it's nothing to do with our subscription to caller display or BT's service. The phone maker's helpline (Vtech) was useless. This is either a fault or a design error.
