good value smart handsets
having been unlucky with previous bt cordless phones, i bought this set with hesitation purely because i liked the styling. the classy looking black gloss finish looking very good stood next to my matching samsung lcd tv!!
looks apart though, this is a very good phone. solid to the touch, very slim, much like using a nokia mobile.
one omission is an illuminated key pad but other than that all is worthy of a 5* rating.
answerphone is easy to operate and clear to listen to.
a definate 'BUY IT' recommendation.

BT Verve 450
The telephone set arrived in the timescale promised. Note that it does not seem possible to buy a single phone to add to the combination. The box says that the answerphone has the following features including an audible message alert. This is not the case. The answerphone has a blinking number to indicate a new message left on the machine but no bleep to attract one's attention. It is not possible to mount the phones or the answer machine on the wall but it never claimed that facility.
With these reservations, it was very easy to set up. The phone menu is intuative and the screeen is extremely clear to read. The sound quality is good even when using the loud speaker hands free mode. It is possible to set up the directory on one phone and then copy it to the other two (one at a time) so all phone directories can remain in sync. I am impressed with this phone and recommend it strongly. It is a pity that it does not have the audible alert as that was one feature I was seeking.

Very poor sound quality, echo, hiss.
Having had BT DECT phones for the past 5+ years, decided to invest in the Verve 450 trio from Amazon. Great looking phones with plenty of features, but the sound quality was awful..hissing and an extremely annoying echo from your own voice through the ear piece. Gave it the benefit of doubt and asked for exchange after being convinced by BT helpdesk that it was probably a defective set, but the replacement was exactly the same. I do have wireless broadband, but no other phones were affected by this and I even bought new filters, all to no avail. I would avoid!!
