Manufacturer's Description
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 takes the series' acrobatic and intense 3D combination of flying and fighting to a whole new level of nail-biting excitement, with over 100 playable characters, 15 vast and vibrant 3D destructible environments, and nine different game modes, including single and multiplayer battles allowing players to do battle with friends. In addition, the European game boasts six extra new characters and a new battle arena not present in the previously released US version.
The innovative Nunchuk controller is perfectly suited to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and the game's frenetic fighting action, allowing gamers to get physical, mimicking the characters' moves to pull off devastating attacks and combos.
In addition to the unprecedented number of characters, wide selection of massive 3D destructible environments and abundance of game modes, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 features in-game transformations, which players can trigger in real-time, making battles even more dramatic and exciting than ever before. Using the Nunchuk, players will be able to mimic signature moves as they are performed in the Dragon Ball Z animated series, such as Goku's Kamehameha, moving both hands to execute this devastating energy attack.

One Of My Greatest Fighters.
It simply is, one of the greatest fighters ive ever played, this and the original super smash brothers are my top 2.
to start off you have story mode, where you go through EVERY saga from DBZ & DBGT which is crazy, and it has 120+ characters!
i got this game a couple days ago and still, after playing it hardcore, iv'e just gone through the frieza saga!
The controlls are iffy at first, what do you expect its a brand new scheme? But its good when you get used to it, i now hit my opponant, chase him through the air, hit him again to the other end of the map, teleport and slam him into the ground, its really simple.
The graphics are a sweet blend of cel shading on the characters and normal graphics (lol) for the backgrounds, the effect is REALLY good.
It is one of the greatest fighters i have ever plaed.
Although the one problem that might get you frustrated is the 'difficulty' change....not change exactly, but e.g. i went onto tournament mode, swiped through 6 fighters easily, then i got to perfect celll and it took me like...30 go's to kill him, after that i had kid buu....i gave up lol, but i will go back to it, because it was extrealy fum.
Simply fantastic!
I own this game for the Wii and PS2 and although the Wii ones are harder to learn and master i now prefer the Wii as they give you some of the feeling of being in the game and are alot more interactive.
As to the actual game, the graphics are stunning, the story mode offers hours of fun, working through DragonBall Z to GT. With around 120 characters you'll never get bored. It delivers loads of fighting fun and you look forward to unlocking the new characters and power levels
The cut scenes are often annoying as you just want to get to the fighting, but are neccessary to tell the story. And the only other problem is the battle areas - at first they look massive, but when you start fighting and you smash your opponent flying you notice them hit a big laser grid. This shows just how limited the areas actually are, with this limiting the fighting area all they way around.
Altogether an excellent purchase and well worth getting for hours of fun!
...erm, it's cool, but not for everybody
This game is cool - it looks and sounds like the anime (or at least the 30-or so episodes I've seen) and it's no doubt like manna from heaven for fans of the anime and this series of games... but... I found it a bit hard.
I'm not usually one to complain about difficulty - I like a challenge - but I just can't remember all the different moves for the different characters - it gets to the stage where you can't remember what actions to do with a particular charachter so you just shake the controls around like an idiot. Funny for whoever is watching but really frustrating 'coz it means you're not going to be able to do some really cool move and will probably get your butt kicked into the next dimension. Seriously!
This also makes it really hard for other people to pick up and play - it's next to useless when friends come over as they'd have to spend a good couple of hours with the tutorials before being able to play - unless you have a couple of regular challengers this is not really a multiplayer game.
I hate to moan, but there's more - I can't help but feeling that I'm putting myself at an instant disadvantage by trying to use the wii-mote and nunchuck (which is kind of why I bought the Wii)- I did try playing the game with a wavebird when it was all getting a bit much and, although I was back to square one with what button does what, I did feel a little more competitive because when you press a button something happens - this is not always the case with the motion sensitive controls. With the wii controls you can often do the 'up' motion to fly upwards sharply (usually to avoid an attack) and nothing happens - the is much easier on the wavebird as you just press the z button and go - job done.
...and unfortunately one more thing... It seems that you can't challenge someone with a different controller i.e. you can't have a gamecube or wavebird plugged in and fight against someone with the wii-mote and nunchuck (or wii-mote and classic remote) - wii controllers can only fight wii controlers and gamecube pads can only fight gamecube pads... It's just the icing on the cake really!
It's dropped in price as well now, which is cool if this is the sort of game for you (really - if you've got the time to invest this would probably be quite good)- but for me it just means I won't be able to trade it in for as much... wow - even I didn't know I could be this miserable :P
