Manufacturer's Description
DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM 2combines the devastating power of the Mobile Suit, the rich legacy of the GUNDAM universe and the furious Tactical Action game play of the DYNASTY WARRIORS series. The game will thrust players into incredible battles against legions of enemy Mobile Suits on distant planetary surfaces and in the far reaches of outer space..

HIGH AND MIGHTY

Gigantic Mobile Suits the size of massive tower blocks have always been a feature of the Gundam series. Now players get the chance to pit their skills against these mammoth harbingers of destruction in battles that will test their combat abilities to the very limits.

Only by combining the new and improved dash attacks with the multitude of new combos and charge attacks will players be able to emerge victorious against these giants of chaos and devastation.

WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION

As players battle through missions and fight their way through waves of different enemies they'll get the opportunity to collect mobile suit parts that have been strewn across the battlefields. Some can be used to upgrade your own Mobile Suit with more powerful armour or increased abilities.

Other parts can be taken to the Mobile Suit Lab where your collection can be sifted through to find the best parts with which to create your very own mobile suit. This unique suit can then be taken into battle to see if your design is one of combat genius or battlefield suicide.

MAKE FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE BATTLES

Throughout the game in Official Mode and Mission Mode relationships can be made and destroyed with all of the other characters from the world of Gundam. Depending upon your actions within missions you can choose to come to the aid of fellow pilots and then count on them as allies in the future. Or you can choose to anger them instead and find them standing in your way in future missions as they treat you as a sworn enemy.

Relationships can be repaired or ruined throughout your DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM 2 experience with some missions devoted to developing your relationships with the other characters. The choice of how you treat each individual is totally up to you and leads to totally unique experiences in future missions depending upon how you have treated certain people earlier in the game.

HIGH AND MIGHTY

In addition to the Official Mode, which follows the storyline of Char's Counter Attack, Mission mode gathers together content from the entire Gundam universe to satisfy fans of all the different series. A multitude of missions will enable players to delve further into the magic and legend of the Gundam world.

Based on a variety of authentic locations they will enable players to search for elusive mobile suit parts, improve their pilot licence status which in turns unlocks more elaborate attacks and moves that can build into stunningly powerful chained attacks, develop their relationships with fellow pilots even further, and most importantly improve the stats and abilities of their Mobile Suits in order to develop them into the ultimate war machine.

Great fun4
I love the Warriors series and could remember the Gundam animé so i thought id give this a go. The gameplay is solid warriors and the story follows the animé series. there is a multitude of mission types such as killing all commanders, taking all fields or escorting characters. there are also missions that give various benefits such as collecting parts for a few select MS or gaining friendships.
The voices however can get annoying for certain characters but if you like the dynasty or samurai warriors series then this has enough new modes/missions to keep even the stupid dub need not stop a purchase.

Great game shame about the voices.1
If you liked the first game you'll like this game. All the usual modifications are present that you'd expect to find in a Japanese sequal i.e generally they play it safe but the visuals and overall presentation get a facelift.

Now, if you're a fan of the original like I was and you played the game only in Japanese due to the God-awful English dub, then you'll be surprised to find that the Japanese dub hasn't been included in the western versions of this game. The dialogue is terrible and the acting is worse. However worse than that, turning off the voices isnt the end of the problem as the sound effects carry some of the voices which get very repetative due to the overall nature of this game and the fact that two voice samples are applied to all attacks, so prepeare to hear things like "stop it" and "I won't let you!" over and over again. So now I'm playing the game with only the music on and that gets boring fast too so its best to use custom soundtracks which thankfully the XBOX360 version always has.

The game however is really fun to play, you're basicly hacking through hundreds of robots at top speed in much cooler looking robots so there's alot to like about this game aside from the painful voices. There is much more challange this time too (the hard mode is actually difficult, kinda.) and the number of robots available for you to pilot is much higher than the first plus there are some amazing suits like the Strike Freedom which pretty much decimate all who stand in its way. There are also bigger robots to go up against which raises the challange a bit and the simple areas you fight in have more rules which make play more interesting.

So all in all a great game with God-awful voices that pretty much reflect the overall quality of the terrible English dubs used in the series as most of the same voice actors return to play the same shrieking Japanese teenagers again. Sadly this is such an elementry stumbling block to fall upon and a real shame that an already finished Japanese dub wasn't applied to this product as it was with the first.
