Amazon.co.uk Review

Namco (or Namco Bandai as they’re now known, after their merger) have long been one of the PlayStation’s most ardent supporters, with many of their key series such as Ridge Racer, Tekken and Ace Combat being synonymous with Sony’s consoles even when they do appear on other formats. Time Crisis is another classic series to be added to the list and while the original arcade version has been out for a while now, like previous home console adaptations this adds a whole raft of new features on top of it. As a start though all the levels from the coin-op are here, with the same wide range of different weapons to use - from machine guns to shotguns and rocket launchers.

Also featured is an evolution of the feature in PS one only game Time Crisis: Project Titan, which expands the series’ signature duck and cover feature to allow you to switch hiding places in certain situations. Because older lightguns don’t work on modern television Time Crisis 4 comes bundled with the all new GunCon 3 controller, which uses two infrared LED markers placed on either side of your television. Working in a similar manner to the Wii this ensures compatibility with any kind of television as well as the utmost accuracy. The GunCon 3 also features an analogue stick so that you can control the game in five new first person shoot ‘em-up levels which are interspersed amongst the original levels and make this the most innovative entry in the series yet.

Great but late4
This is a great game and looks just like the arcade version you put pounds in to keep playing. But even the arcade/this game have just OK graphics and music. There are additional mini games included which adds to the life of this game.
The G Con gun is a disappointment. It is big and clumsy and looks nothing like a gun really. Due to LCD TV's you have to place two sensors on the side of the screen to pick up the gun. Finally the gun is not wireless so you end up with a cable hanging out of the end of the gun.
In conclusion, a good game that will give hours of entertainment but let down by the gun.

Classic Time Crisis with a cool idea4
You either love or hate Time Crisis. I've loved playing them in the arcades for years but this is the first one i've bought and although the price seems a little steep for the content in the game, it's still worth the money.

First little annoyance, you only get one gun and as far as i know the G-Cons aren't available to buy on their own yet. Second, the new G-Con is a little funny looking and the buttons aren't best layed out for the FPS mode, but i'll get to that later.

There's not really a lot in the game, but it has a few modes to get through. The classic arcade mode that you see in the arcades, some mini-games that reminded me of Point Blank and my favourite, the FPS Mode. Now, although it feels a little clumsy i applaud them for the idea. You use the two analogue sticks on the G-Con to move about like you would on every console FPS, but you can still shoot anywhere in your field of view with the G-Con so you aren't limited to what's in your crosshair. But because of the positioning of the sticks on the gun it sometimes gets a little awkward, if the section of the gun with A1 and A2 buttons on it was detachable it would make it easier. But none the less, it's an interesting idea and i enjoyed playing it.

Overall, pretty chuffed with what i got. I can play Time Crisis without putting money in the machine. The only downside is you'll need to get a mate to buy their own copy to get another gun if you want 2 Player.

TERRIBLE!!! Massive waste of £60!1
Firstly, Ive been a big fan of the Time Crisis trilogy for years, but thhis game is truely awful for a variety of reasons;
Firstly the new Gcon3 gun IS NOT wireless!!! Not only that, Namco have gone one step further by forcing you to use two hands constanly throughout the entire game. Meaning now you have to control your character movement AND camera movement via a joystick on the back and side of the gun. Sounds like a good idea right? ITS NOT!!! It makes the gameplay completely and utterly terrible. Its clumbersome and fidderly and more often than not results in you being shot while the camera shoots up to the sky or down to the floor. The graphics are great, but thats far from enough to draw you away from the boring, same old plot and irritable, cheesey dialog. With the loss of the original 'popup and shoot' style and the addtion of the worst controller in history (which, by the way need you to have 2 ugly sensors hanging from your tv!!!) makes TC4 truely one to miss! I have truely NEVER been so dissapointed in a game. Ive had it out for 15 mins and now I want my money back!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
