Manufacturer's Description
The Dominator Series Twin2X4096-8500C5DF is 4096MBytes of DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs built using Corsair's latest high performance heat sink with Dual-Path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology coupled with a Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan. This memory has been verified to operate at 1066MHz at latencies of 5-5-5-15-2T at 2.1VDIMM. The Twin2X4096-8500C5DF comes with Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), the open standard for performance module SPD's jointly developed by Corsair and NVIDIA. EPP SPD's on Corsair modules allow users to automatically configure EPP enabled motherboards with aggressive memory performance settings, for maximum memory and system performance

Dominator
well worth the money,i have spent a lot of money on hardware over the years, building pc for myself and friends, getting the right hardware is very important, these two ram stick work very well indead, they only get a 4 star because the fans that come with them become nosey after some use,
once they are warmed up the are quiet, this is the only gripe.
Don't forget to install the fan !! Doh !
I have owned 2 matched sticks of these for a good 6 months now
I would recommend these as very good memory sticks, but if you install
without the fan attachment, when you run these above 900Mhz you may well
get the occasional memory error & blue screen crash.
I experienced a number of these on a very hot day recently!
Don't be like me and ignore the fan! Corsair obviously put it in the pack
for a good reason!
The solution was of course to install the fan and the Dominators now run up to
1150Mhz without any errors on the memory tests.
I also found the trick in fitting the fan is to tighten one end of the clamp and leave the other end loose,
then place the assembly centrally over the modules on the mainboard and tighten the thumbscrews thus
clamping the fan assembly on - it is a bit fiddly though!
My volts are set at 2.15.
I can also overclock much higher now.
I don't notice the noise from the fans but that is probably because the others are slightly louder!
Recommended timings at 1066Mhz are 5-5-5-15 but I dropped mine to 5-5-5-16 and as low as 5-5-5-18 and
I couldnt pick up any performance difference at all in any of the benchmarks.
Because I use my PC primarily for work stability is more important to me than speed.
Good solid memory.
PROS: Highly overclockable and over-voltable when cooled properly.
Look great
CONS: Fairly expensive & overclooking only gives tiny overall performance gains
Modules run fairly hot - you must install the fan.
Need high volts 2.1 - 2.2v
