Customer Reviews

Good for younger kids3
As the reviewer below says, this game is listed as 7+ - but that is because any game with a hint of Fear has to be marked as such. And the Fear in the game extends to being chased by spiders made out of lego. Really, that's it.

The game itself is easy - but that's not the point, it's supposed to be. It's for kids who are into Lego Bionicles, and any such kid will love it - they will instantly recognise the various Bionicle characters. MS have been criticised for making the 360 too much of a 'grown-up' console, and not releasing games aimed at chilcdren. Well, this, Lego Star Wars 2 and Viva Pinata are all good games aimed at redressing that balance. Any adult who buys it wanting a thorough test of their gaming abilities should know better.
Please note the scores I have given this game are from the viewpoint of my 2 kids.

Too easy to be entertaining.2
I have 23 Xbox 360 games, and this is the least good of them all.
The graphics are dated although still better than PS2 for instance. The controll scheme is not polished at all, while the established standard is to have the left analog to move the camera and the right to walk, in here both do both movements, wich becomes quite annoying. The story is almost non-existant. While I'm not a conneiseur of Bionicles universe it's obvious, that even if Bionicle world lacks any depth, any thing would have been more interresting than what's going on in Heroes. The sound is probably the better part of game, as it has some so-so tunes.
And then comes the worst thing - it's so, so, so, so easy!!! It's really just like "keep holding the fire button and move". Why did they do this game like this ? It's supposed to be 7+, but I mean..., it's not for disabled kids, is it ?
Anyway..., so why did I give it 2 stars, instead of 1 ? Well, it's still a 360 game and it's ok to look, and easy achievements to cash.

It's not just for kids.4
Just to clarify,I'm 34 and I actually like this game, yes it has 7+ on the box but so what,I also have both Suffering games, all the Resident Evil,Silent Hill etc.
I confess I've only had it a short while but it's fun,it's a third person over-the-shoulder shooter where you play a Bionicle (natch),you pick up the masks to gain new powers(if you've bought them),this encourages multiple play throughs and you pick up lego bricks, enough will trigger Hero Mode whereby you can operate gold 'constractions' such as doorways, bridges etc. Here's the thing, you're invulnerable in Hero Mode but since you have to trigger a constraction to proceed you aren't immortal for the rest of the game which some reviews have picked up on.
Some other magazines have complained about the controls,it's all on one stick and you strafe with the trigger held down, this is infinitely easier than dual stick control and eradicates the dodgy camera which only plays up when you're really close to something.
Overall it's fun,the graphics are sharp and clear and it has immense replay value, granted it's easier than most games but it's still challenging, the only downer is you have to complete the level for it to save,it has plenty of checkpoints though.
One more thing,I've since finished this with 100% completion, easy enough but the secret chamber 3 mission is a swine, you need to get gold to get the 100%!
