Dreadful camera!
Sony have a good name and I use a Sony camcorder which I'm happy with, so I decided to give the DCS-W100 a go. I'm a reasonably experienced photographer and am used to taking some great shots, especially of the kids. However, this camera doesn't seem able to take a 'great' shot - no matter how still you hold it, at least 1 in every 10 shots are blurry. I've tried every setting to no avail. Maybe mine was broken but not a good buy.

Amazon were excellent - they agreed to take it back 10 months after I bought the camera and gave me full refund!

Great camara
I have had my w100 about a year now and I am still very happy with it. I would give this camara 5 stars but for the door to the battery which is in a place so that when you try to shoot with one hand your thumb causes it to open. The video capability is good although limited in low light conditions. I would recomend buying this camara from my experience.

I Love My Camera
I study Graphic Design and a lot of my work involves photography. I'm moving away to University so I thought it was pretty useful to finally purchase my own camera. I had to have at least 8million pix as most of my work is printed on a large scale. The price was a bit hefty for someone on a student budget so I was a bit apprehensive... but oh my word!

something must be good :)

-- The zoom is perfect
-- The highest quality photos are amazing
-- Different lighting settings
-- The movie mode is pretty good to, though i haven't used that too much
-- Battery lasts quite a few photos and is better than most cameras I've
used

The viewfinder is pretty pointless.
The battery bit doesn't keep coming undone as previously mentioned as it now made of metal.

There is so much to do with this camera I haven't experimented with half the stuff yet!
My work printed on A3 gloss paper looks seriously amazing... well that's my excellent design skills I'm guessing :) but the picture quality is faultless.
Couldn't of asked for anymore in my camera.
