It also works with dual layer discs, increasing the capacity of a disc from 4.7 to 8.5 gigabytes for even more storage space.

Pioneer Burner
Great product,easy to install, and a great price from amazon.
Installed this burner in a few minutes, and had no problems.
Would recommend this product to anyone.

A bit noisy but works fine.
I bought this Pioneer DVDRW on 8th Dec 2008 to replace my broken Optiarc AD-7200S 20X DVD±RW which only survives for 9 months. So far this Pioneer DVDRW works just fine with a couple of DL DVDs burned. However, the noise control was not as good as the big brand "Pioneer" normally good at. This is a bit disappointed. So 4/5 starts are given from me. Price wise speaking, this is a good product to get.

Very quiet...!
Very impressed with how quiet this drive is... I need my PC really quiet as it runs through the night, so I watercooled it and turned the fans waaay down with a controller. Consequently, any drive noise is very noticable indeed. Having put up with a Sony DVD-RW which frankly sounded unbalanced and set off all sorts of sympathetic vibrations around my case, I'm really glad I got the Pioneer. The barest hum is audible when it first spins up (which you have to expect with any drive) but the rest of the operation is virtually silent. Very pleased and will buy Pioneer equipment again...
