Customer Reviews

Superb for advanced decorators4
The cakes in this book are stunning, although many are very advanced. There are cakes based on signs of the zodiac and birth stones, along with 'general' birthday cakes and flowers of the month, and the accompanying photographs are beautiful. There are clear instructions in most cases, but occasionally they can take a bit of working out. These cakes may prove costly to reproduce initially, as a large amount of equipment is required - an airbrush is used frequently. There are sections on basic recipes and instructions, but you will still need some experience to recreate cakes to this standard. It will take some time to produce cakes like this (in some cases a lot of the work can be done in advance of baking and decorating the cake) but it should be well worth it. I would definitely consider purchasing more of Collette's books in the future (once I've got my airbrush!)
