Product Description

Following the great success of "A Train is For Life", Pete Waterman's new book gives tips on how to model railways to the very highest standard - a subject very close to his heart. Over the years Pete has brought together some of the finest railway modellers in the business and his models and layouts are renowned for their high quality, accuracy and attention to detail. This attractively illustrated book will impart practical advice, tips and techniques that he has developed over the years over a wide range of modelling topics, from locomotives and rolling stock to track, signalling, scenery and buildings, from painting to model construction. Many of the techniques are unusual but easy for the average modeller to reproduce and give results far better than perhaps more conventional methods, including the now renowned singing of teddy bear fur to create grassed embankments and cuttings.

Model railway5
A wish book with details of an ultimate dream for any boy(3 to 90). The work that went into this model. Ideas for grass and the answer. Superb. Not a model just like the real thing check the pictures. My grandson would love to have one(me too)(8 and 63)

Great pictures, didn't learn a lot3
The pictures in this book are fantastic but there isn't a layout plan anywhere. I had to really try hard to identify the scale. Lots of useful facts and figures would have been easy to include but nothing. Very little on planning, techniques just a few 'useful' hints. Many of the modelled items look so pristine that the chapter that covers weathering obviously didn't apply to the scenics or buildings! All in all not what I expected.

I also bought Pete's other book which is also full of great photos and not a lot else.

I bought this book for my sons birthday, he said it was excellent reading and that his late Father who was a train driver would have loved it.
