Excellent, informative book.5
This is not a book that tells you what to do, it guides you.

I have put several books down in the past due to being restrictive in their views and forcing one set method on you for making films. I do not think there is any set way to create a truly great film and this book helps you find your own vision with useful tips and inspiring words. It made me want to broaden my knowledge of the industry and get even more involved in my projects as well as others.

A truly invaluable book.

Mapping No Man's Land5
Anyone setting out on the epic journey across the terrifying no man's land of their first short film would be well advised to take a copy of this handy guide as a map to guide you on your way. From penning your masterpiece to getting shorts screened at festivals, every tip you will ever need is contained in one volume. With "A Writer's Journey" and "Adventures in the Screen Trade", "Making Short Films" completes the trilogy of "must have" books for the filmmaker.

Indispensible5
At last, a book that does exactly what it says on the tin! In this lucid and concise book Clifford Thurlow maps out the entire film-making process, from the very beginnings of script-writing all the way through to post-production. So, clear a space on your bookshelf between McKee's 'Story' and Vogler's 'A Writer's Journey' and complete your triumvirate of film-making handbooks. A must-buy!
