Sony Logo Cyber-shot logo

The eye-catching new Cyber-shot™ DSCT2 from Sony makes it easy to keep a lifetime’s worth of precious photo memories handy in a pocket or handbag.

Sony Cybershot T2 colour options

Colours Options

The DSCT2 is available in five colour options – black, blue, green, pink, white – along with cutting-edge styling the T2 stands out from the crowd.andbag.

Megapixels

Megapixels

Digital photos are made up of dots of coloured light called pixels (picture element). To make a photo requires millions of pixels (mega pixels). The more mega pixels a camera has, the smoother and clearer the photos will be. So, Crisp, clear images are assured courtesy of the 8.1 effective megapixel sensor.

Internal memory

Internal memory

A generous 4GB of internal flash memory gives enough space to store around 1,250 top-quality images. At VGA resolution there’s capacity for over 40,000 images – a lifetime of memories. Shots are automatically indexed and arranged in albums, making it quick and simple to track down the right picture in the largest digital photo collections.

Double Anti-Blur

Double Anti-Blur

Sony’s Double Anti-blur solution teams Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 3200. This reduces the chances of spoiled pictures while shooting handheld indoors or at dusk without flash. Sony Clear RAW NR processing reduces colour noise and luminance noise for more natural pictures at high sensitivity settings.

Zoooom

Zoooom

The high quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens gives a powerful 3 x optical zoom – great for pulling distant subjects in closer.

Face Detection Technology

Face Detection Technology

The easy-to-use Face Detection capability helps photographers of all abilities capture great-looking ‘people pictures’ without the risk of spoiled shots. Face Detection automatically adjusts exposure, flash and other settings. Enhanced autofocus performance and advanced eye detection ensure beautifully sharp portraits with natural skin tones – even at high zoom settings, in low light or with
moving subjects. Touching a face on the LCD screen of the camera turns on Face Detection, what
could be easier?

New Smile Shutter function

New Smile Shutter function

This enables the camera to automatically react to a smile – a first for digital photography. This auto shutter system is capable of identifying when someone smiles and will immediately take a shot without you needing to press the shutter - bringing more fun to informal portraits, family shots and other ‘people pictures’. If there are several people in the frame, the shutter only fires when the main
subject – selected using the touchscreen – smiles. A sequence of up to six smiling shots can be taken without needing to manually press the shutter. So you can always have pictures of children or adults looking happy in every shot!

Touchscreen

Touchscreen

Images can be viewed with crystal clarity on the large, clear 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD. And for an even bigger picture, it’s easy to connect the T2 to any BRAVIA™ television or HD Ready display for breathtaking HD Slideshows with musical accompaniment. (NB: requires optional HD connection cable). Another exciting new way to enjoy your images on your DSCT2 is Scrapbook which creates an attractive montage of pictures on the touchscreen LCD, accompanied by a choice of themed backgrounds.

Photo TV HD Full HD image display

Photo TV HD Full HD image display

It’s easy to enjoy the finest quality High Definition images captured with the T2 on a BRAVIA or HD Ready display (HD output adapter cable required) so you can share your images with friends and family. Music can accompany the slideshows for an extra dimension of enjoyment to your photos. Just pick from four visual effects (Simple, Nostalgic, Active and Stylish) and four preset musical accompaniments – then watch the show onscreen with HDTV image quality. The slideshows can be personalised further with MP3 background music tracks imported from a PC.

    Fabby!5
This is my first ever camera and I took a lot of time in deciding which one I wanted and I found that this one was the best out of the other ones I liked. I looked at the Sony Lumix as well.

I find the menu quite confusing to use, but I'm not one for reading manuals. But I shall sit down and decipher what it all means.

I have a Sony Ericsson phone and it has a Cybershot camera on it. It usually takes a while to take the picture after pressing the button and I was quite worried the same would happen with the camera, but no! As soon as you press the button, the picture's taken.

It has great picture quality, the touch screen is useful (although, I would recommend using the very ugly stylus provided with the camera as it gets finger printy easily).

I love it, the colour's great as well!

    Great camera very impressed5
I got a pleasant surprise when i opened the box for the first time when i bought this camera it was tinier than i expected very neat. Its overall an amazing camera , takes fabulous picture due to the 8.1 megapixels and has an impressive large touch screen to navigate the menu. The above review mentioned that you had to press hard on the touch screen but i think if you use the provided tool that attatches to the camera cord instead of your finger it works fine. The camera has a 4gb memeory and you can store loads of pics without the need for a separate sd card right away. I can't stop playing with my new toy yay.

Nice camera, good pictures, but confusing menu system...4
We've had this camera for about a week and overall we're very pleased with it. There are no problems connecting it to our iMac using iPhoto (good as there's no software for Macs supplied with the camera) and the pictures it takes are very, VERY good... But... And there's always a but! The menu system is SO frustrating... You'd really have thought that having a touch screen would have meant a simplified menu system which was easy and intuitive to use, but it's really not. Some of the icons are just plain obscure and some of the features seem buried deep within the menu system accessible only after reading through the manual. The touch screen itself isn't particularly good either, you really have to PRESS it to get it to react. It's certainly not able to accept a light touch like my iPhone does, this suggests to me that it'll wear out fairly quickly but obviously as I've only had it a week this is just speculation!
...Yet you'll notice after the above mini-rant I've still awarded four stars. The confusing menu system is only confusing until you've learnt it after then and being a pocket camera, you'll probably never need to go traipsing through it again. After all you're not buying a professional SLR or anything and for a pocket camera it really is fantastic quality much better than my Fujifilm E550.
So all in all, great camera, great looking camera too! But I'd try and use one before you buy it, unless you particularly enjoy reading manuals!
