Fabby!
This is my first ever camera and I took a lot of time in deciding which one I wanted and I found that this one was the best out of the other ones I liked. I looked at the Sony Lumix as well.
I find the menu quite confusing to use, but I'm not one for reading manuals. But I shall sit down and decipher what it all means.
I have a Sony Ericsson phone and it has a Cybershot camera on it. It usually takes a while to take the picture after pressing the button and I was quite worried the same would happen with the camera, but no! As soon as you press the button, the picture's taken.
It has great picture quality, the touch screen is useful (although, I would recommend using the very ugly stylus provided with the camera as it gets finger printy easily).
I love it, the colour's great as well!
Great camera very impressed
I got a pleasant surprise when i opened the box for the first time when i bought this camera it was tinier than i expected very neat. Its overall an amazing camera , takes fabulous picture due to the 8.1 megapixels and has an impressive large touch screen to navigate the menu. The above review mentioned that you had to press hard on the touch screen but i think if you use the provided tool that attatches to the camera cord instead of your finger it works fine. The camera has a 4gb memeory and you can store loads of pics without the need for a separate sd card right away. I can't stop playing with my new toy yay.
Nice camera, good pictures, but confusing menu system...
We've had this camera for about a week and overall we're very pleased with it. There are no problems connecting it to our iMac using iPhoto (good as there's no software for Macs supplied with the camera) and the pictures it takes are very, VERY good... But... And there's always a but! The menu system is SO frustrating... You'd really have thought that having a touch screen would have meant a simplified menu system which was easy and intuitive to use, but it's really not. Some of the icons are just plain obscure and some of the features seem buried deep within the menu system accessible only after reading through the manual. The touch screen itself isn't particularly good either, you really have to PRESS it to get it to react. It's certainly not able to accept a light touch like my iPhone does, this suggests to me that it'll wear out fairly quickly but obviously as I've only had it a week this is just speculation!
...Yet you'll notice after the above mini-rant I've still awarded four stars. The confusing menu system is only confusing until you've learnt it after then and being a pocket camera, you'll probably never need to go traipsing through it again. After all you're not buying a professional SLR or anything and for a pocket camera it really is fantastic quality much better than my Fujifilm E550.
So all in all, great camera, great looking camera too! But I'd try and use one before you buy it, unless you particularly enjoy reading manuals!
