GREAT TRAVEL CAMERA/CAMCORDER
Surprisingly good results considering the price. At ISO < 200 SLR like picture with sharp images, excellent colour rendition and superb dynamic range (ability to differentiate different shades of light). 24mm lens a real boon. Manual controls a bonus. At ISO over 400 picture loses resolution and colours not as good, but not too noisy. Flash gives very good results, but range limited at mid to max zoom. The 720p HD video with full range stereo sound is amazing. Like the stills, sharp with vivid colours in good light. Video a bit grainy in low light. 10x optical zoom can be used in video, although can be heard. It records in H.264 at 10MBits/s. Use TMPGEnc software to edit for best results.

So to sum up, a superb camera and very good camcorder that fits in most pockets. You can leave your camcorder at home, provided you do not plan to take video in very low light. Great for the summer holidays. Samsung have a Panasonic TZ series killer here due to the price and wide angle lens. A well known independent consumers' association gave this model a "Best Buy" and "Exceptional Value" ratings.

lovely camera
Well, it has been just over 1 month since i bought this camera and all i can say is wow!!!.
I have been waiting for a compact camera with HD video capabilities for a long time now and the fact that it also has a 10x optical zoom is an even bigger bonus.
The videos are much crisper than my old fuji e900 at 640x480 with the added bonus of stereo sound and the ability to use the zoom when recording (although the sound of the zoom motor can be heard).
The images produced are really vibrant and there has been no noticeable fringing throughout the zoom length.
All in all a fantastic piece of kit that i would recommend to anyone

Cracking little camera
I recently bought this camera in anticipation of a trip to Florence. It seemed good value since it offered good telephoto and wide angle capability without the bulk of an alternative camera and interchangeable lens set-up.

I have to say it turned in some great results that exceeded expectations. You will see a bit of criticism in reviews about low light capability - fair enough, but what would you expect at this price. It has the advantage of a really effective auto mode but lets you switch easily into manual for more creative shots.

My verdict? Excellent all rounder for the price and I have some great images to prove it.
