Product Description

Get the kids outdoors and loving it with Cool Camping: Kids In this brand new book, Britain s 60 best family campsites are revealed in full-colour glory, with crucial details for each site including on-site fun , off-site fun and nanny-state alert to keep children busy, happy and safe during their holidays. Think adventure playgrounds, rafting ponds, rope swings and campfires; organic farms, woodland glades and buckets & spades; stripy bell tents, yurts, tipis and gypsy caravans pulled by real-live horses; fun lessons on outdoor survival and, of course, loads of open space for the kids to run round and round until they fall over dizzy. Cool Camping Kids steers clear of the big corporate sites with karaoke and fruit machines in the clubhouse and instead picks a stellar cast of some of the most family-friendly sites in England, Wales and Scotland, all of which exemplify the free-spirited sense of adventure that Cool Camping is all about. Cool Camping Kids is also full of ideas about what to do when you re there and as cooking at camp is all part of the fun, the book includes a handy cooking section with some yummy treats which can easily be put together (with help from the kids) on a barbeque or campfire. A games section provides further inspiration for activities the whole family can enjoy and which won t cost a penny! With a special feature on family festivals and a round-up of the best residential kids camps in the country, Cool Camping Kids is the last word on family camping. Lead author for Cool Camping Kids is journalist and mother-of-two Clover Stroud, best known for her summer camping column in The Telegraph.

Great guide5
Another good book from the Cool Camping gang, this time family campsites get the treatment. It's almost 300 pages and has 60 campsites, so it's a fair bit bigger than their usual guides, and there are some real crackers! We've just got back from Noongallas in Cornwall based on the recommendation in this book, and it's one of the nicest sites I've been too. Campfires are allowed, and it's a beautiful countryside spot not far from Cornwall's beaches. The book also has a quick reference list of sites that allow campfires, which is useful. There are a couple of 'fancy' sites included - Featherdown Farms, La Rosa and a couple of tipi places, but most of the campsites are small, peaceful traditional sites and ones that allow campfires. I already know some of them, but most of them are new to me, so looking forward to a long, hot summer of camping!

Loving this book5
This book is so great. It even tells you about a horse-drawn gypsy caravan ... how I would have loved that as a child. The pics are gorgeous and makes me want to get my kids running around in the countryside again. Some of the sites in the book were just £12 a night for a tent too! How cool is that?

Kids and adults love it so, the happy world of...cool camping-o!5
As a kid, I spent many a happy summer camping in the countryside with my family and I fully believe that every child should have the opportunity to get to grips with nature and frolic freely! The beauty of this book is that these places can be enjoyed in equal measures by both adults and children. Seriously, this is what's life all about and this guide provides amazing inspiration and information, so you can get the most out of every trip.
