port adapter
ideal for the older printer were no USB connection is available, note with XP, you dont need to install software for most Epson printers, just connect the USB, allow XP to install driver, some older printers may require a XP driver, my opinion, first class buy. I bought two of these.

Works on XP but not with Vista
This adaptor works well with an old printer (HP deskjet 890C with only a parallel port)on XP but I could not get it to work with my new system running on Vista - the reason for buying it.
I have agreed to return it to Vendor.
There is a tweak required to get it to work with XP which has been sent to Vendor. Anyone needs the tweak - let me know.
Misleading information
Had the cable been a "USB to Parallel Port adapter cable" I should have been delighted. However, as it was a USB to Centronics male adapter, it was less useful. Parallel ports are D25 female connectors, not Centronics. The best answer would be to familiarise yourself with the standards and to describe the goods offered accurately.
