Works well and much cheaper
It is obvious this isn't a genuine Canon battery so not sure why previous reviewer is surprised. As said, battery isn't recognised by camcorder but the battery does have its own charge level display on the back. It charges directly from the camcorder charger (not via camcorder) as it has its own charge port.
This is a larger battery so protrudes from the back of the camcorder.
I haven't tested how long it lasts yet but assuming that is ok, it is a bargain compared to the genuine battery.
Not a genuine Canon product
I read the add and assumed that it was a genuine Canon Battery, it's not.
The camera does not recognise the battery and therefore gives you no warning of its inpending loss of power. There is, however, a battery charge level display on the back of the battery. This can be activated by pushing a small pressure point. Overall I'm a little disapointed, I would have rather paid a little more for a battery which was 100% compatible.
What capacity?
No idea of the capacity of this battery since it is not stated. Seems very expensive too since it can be had for less then £10 elsewhere. I can say that it works on my Canon HG20 with the camera warning it can't speak to the battery each time it is turned on. It works.
