Synopsis
Weaning your baby on to solid foods is one of the most important milestones during the early months of parenthood, and Gina's expert advice on weaning makes a baby's transition from milk to solid foods as straightforward as possible. Successful weaning establishes a pattern of healthy eating in babies, avoiding the pitfalls of fussy eaters restricted to a narrow diet. In this revised edition of The Contented Little Baby Book of Weaning, Gina includes the latest recommendations regarding breast-feeding and the introduction of solid food from the World Health Organisation and the UK Department of Health. She aims to take the worry out of weaning, guiding parents step-by-step through the process and shares the insight and expertise gained from personally helping to care for over 300 babies, and advising thousands more parents via her consultation service and website.

Included in this revised edition: - The best time of day to introduce the first solid food - Which foods to introduce and at what age - Getting the balance of milk feeds and solids right - How to eliminate night feeds once solids are introduced - The importance of introducing finger foods at the right age - Extended parent-friendly feeding plans to take parents step-by-step through the different stages - Newly developed rotating meal planners for older children up to the end of the first year - Brand new questions and answers giving the most up-to-date advice to parents. The Contented Little Baby Book of Weaning is the definitive guide to ensuring babies eat well now and as they grow up and is as relevant and helpful to those parents who have not previously followed Gina's routines.

Weaning made easy5
Just what you need before you embark on weaning. A sensible and easy to read book which spells it out for you in a no nonsense manner. It has lists of what foods you can introduce when, daily meal schedules for 6mth olds to 12+mths, great recipes for baby and family, practical freezing advice and questions and answers section which has proved very useful. I only wish I had her on hand as she knows what she is talking about!

Excellent must have for weaning!5
As a first time mum how else are you supposed to have a clue how to wean and baby happy and healthy??? This book is simple to follow, easy to read and gathers great information and advice into one place for easy reference. The day by day guide was great and really helpful in the days when thinking is something you just don't have time for! My son eats a great diet based on this book and the recipes in it. Contains summary of weaning advice / info, day by day weaning guide and great recipes.

Helpful Book, Highly Recommended5
I discovered this book as I was about to wean my 6th baby, and was dreading this stage. How I wish I had this book before! The previously massive hurdle has been greatly simplified and weaning is so far going very well. Every mother should read this book, it's a must-have!
As with all books, you should take what makes sense to you, and don't try to follow it to the letter. Gina Ford is very emphatic in her approach, but let's face it,every baby is unique, and as the mother, you are qualified to decide.
Even saying that, this is a great guide for those of us who find weaning a difficult issue.
