I have wanted something like this for ages
These lamps are as they say, fully dimmable and they dim smoothly to boot, I have the bayonet cap version.
They are brighter when on full than my previous 100Watt incandescent bulbs, but only use 20Watts.

Can't really fault them, other than the price, but that is not enough reason for me to knock a star off, so they get the full five stars from me.

Totally unimpressed
I recently bought 4 of these bulbs hoping to replace the incandescent bulbs in all my dimmable lights. I use electronic touch sensative dimmers on all my ceiling lights and I have found that these bulbs do not work correctly with any of these switches, needing to be turned up to full power to energise them and extreme flickering being evident after a few minutes use. Perhaps they may work better with Varilight custom made dimmer switches but they are expensive compared to their competitors.
As for using them with ordinary switches, I fitted one in the bathroom and it blew immediately. I replaced it with another which frerquently fails to energise first time after just a week of use.
Apart from the reliabilty issue the light from these bulbs is quite unpleasant and depressing. Certainly not the warm white I was led to believe they produced.
Would never buy one again.
