Life changing? - you bet!5
I bought this book after seeing Suzanne on a daytime TV show. She gave a demonstration of a recipe, and it looked pretty good - Turkey with a rich wine and butter sauce.
I had look at her web site and read some reviews of the books, most of which were positive (a couple of which weren't) and thought "Why not?". I started on 03 September 2001, by 25th November I have lost almost 40lbs without having to starve myself. I do miss some of the 'funky' baddies - potatoes, risotto, alcohol, coffee/tea; but it is a small price to pay for such astounding results. I now weigh less than I have in 8 years and great side effects of eating so much fresh salad and veggies have been better skin (spots and dry patches are a thing of the past) and increased energy levels. I agree with Somers' take on this not being to much a 'diet' as an 'eating plan'. If you're ready to take control of your eating habits I recommend this as an ideal way to start. The really great features are: great food, plenty of it and no measuring. It is easy to eat out or at home without having to worry about counting points, calories, or carbs or having to have a 'special' meal whilst the rest of the family eats something decent. Essentially a reduced carb diet, it may not be for everyone, but without sounding like I'm on Somers' payroll - I say "Go on! Try it. All you have to lose is the blubber."

After 20 years of dieting I've finally found one that works!4
I bought this book in November 2000 after reading the reviews on Amazon. I lost 5 lbs in the first week and then nothing for a further 3 weeks when I suddenly dropped five more pounds. I ate 'boxes' of chocolates over Christmas but by the end of January 2001 I had lost 1 stone 2 pounds. I kept this off during Feb and March by half heartedly sticking to the diet (but in reallity I went out for lots of meals, drank lots of wine and ate chocolate every day. I had put back 3lb by Easter and have now been back on the plan for 1 week and have lost a further 5lbs. I think this diet is just brilliant - I have tried every other diet in the past and have only been able to lose weight for a short time by 'crash dieting' to immediately put it back on. I drive everyone mad by telling them how wonderful Somersizing is. I'm so happy and on track for my next stone - I NEVER believed this could happen. I even lose weight by Somersizing Monday thru Friday and eating normally at the weekends. Miracles really do happen!

we can all eat well and have the bodies we remember5
Vegetarians take heart! unlike the extreme Dr Atkins diet (emphasis on the word 'diet') that dismisses us out of hand - Suzanne Somers has come up with a really great way to live for all of us who had given up hope of ever getting our bodies back.

Not only does she not dismiss us out of hand, she has some really helpful ideas for vegetarians and great recipes too.

I've followed level 1 for a couple of weeks and have watched the shape of my body re-emerge from all the fat I inexplicably gained aged 31. The hospital consultant said if I wanted to stop gaining weight I'd have to eat so little that I couldn't lead a normal life - so I should get used to growing at a stone a year - eek!

Well, following the principles in this book that's all been shown to be hog-wash. I'm in control of my body, and everything I eat - which still includes chocolate (hurray!)but there's no more bloating or mid-afternoon energy loss. There's no wagon to fall off, and no 'sins' to commit. It is not a diet. The main principles are you eat when you'r hungry and you eat til you're full - just make sure you eat the right things at the right time.

This book is so well written - you can see how well researched it's been, but all the medical and clinical jargon has been put into plain-speak. It's written like a conversation - she is speaking to me.

5 of my friends have now joined me 'Somersizing' and we're having a ball! Read this book - it might change your life.
