A definitive bible for the stylistically nervous
Trinny & Susannah may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I find this book invaluable. It's easy to read and goes into a great deal of detail on all areas of style; from clothes to shoes to accessories, make-up, hair and beauty. And although it might seem a little daunting to read, it's designed to be "dipped" into rather than read from cover to cover.
If you've never really had any idea what colours actually suit you, have never ventured beyond a modest application of black mascara and eyeliner, and you're unsure if those expensive earrings you bought are achingly hip or tragically frumpy, this book is for you.
The Best Book Out Of The Series
I have read each and every single Trinny and Susannah book, including their new one, and as I am under the age of 21, it does not really apply to me, BUT the best book out of the entire series has to be What You Wear Can Change Your Life. And it's true! My life has been changed so much - all I used to wear is black and it used to totally depress me. Now I know what colours I can wear, what styles I suit etc. I really would recommend this book - I have spent hours reading it and putting together outfits etc! (and have had the best fun) I have also learnt how to make my lips look bigger, how to apply foundation and what type of mascara to use. BUY THIS BOOK - It'll be worth it!!!
Entertaining read full of home truths
Curious about the title, I ordered this book. The style is informal and funny. I think every working Mum juggling their domestic roles will recognize themselves here...particularly our refusal to throw away underwear that is in an awful condition..hardly flattering..and to clear out a wardrobe full of clothes that you cannot wear. Particularly, trousers that refuse to accept your growing thighs, t-shirts that seem to creep up your front as your midrift grows. All in hope of the day when we will get back into a size 12...no chance. So why not make the most of the "here and now" regardles of shape or size?
I was entertained by the read and have paid considerable thought about being more adventurous with colours, shoes and styles on my next shopping trip. The authors provide lists of places to get fitted out and these are classified by cost so technically even the humblest of pockets should be able to do something.
