Customer Reviews

Poorly reseached and inaccurate1
Having bought this guide and stayed at a number of the places within it, I can only say that it is BAD! How can travel writers get away with recommending hotels which they obviously hacen't visited!!! For example the Hotel Huerta Honda in Zafra is a very pleasant hotel however is does not have and has never had the pool which the writer describes most eloquently in the book. If you want a guide for Small and Charming Hotels in Spain then look no further than Alastair Sawday's 'Special Places to Stay' guide to Spanish Hotels, it's descriptions are alluring but also accurate and they actually visit the Hotels listed in their guide!

Not Recommended1
Having bought a selection of guides to small/independent hotels in Spain, this one was certainly a let down.

I found a number of substantial inaccuracies in the information (such as mention of swimming pools which didn't exist) and many of the hotels mentioned were not what I would consider charming or out of the ordinary.

If you are looking for a guide to hotels in Spain then I cannot recommend Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay Spain enough.

Packed full of information5
Still reading through this book but on first appearances it appears excellent and packed full of information. Haven't been to Spain yet and tested out the accurancy of the entries.
