Does what I want it to do
I bought this dock to work in conjunction with my Black ipod 80gb Classic.

It does everything I want it to do. It charges the ipod and I have it connected to my Hi-Fi via the 20 pin ipod connector at the rear. This means the sound and volume are controlled via the amp and this is of a fantastic quality.

I haven't tried to connect it to the T.V to watch movies because I download DVD's to my ipod to watch, not the other way around.

My only gripe is it doesn't come with an adapter to take the Classic so I've had to use the white adapter that came with my ipod. It doesn't look too bad but a black adapter "might" look better.

a little shoddy
this is OK if you buy it and leave it in the same spot but it doesn't stand up to being moved around and repeatedly plugged in and out - the line-out socket in the back broke and fell inside the machine after a few times, which means that I have to plug the audio cable into the top of the ipod - no big deal but not quite as elegant.
Also the volume control has never worked on mine though judging by the other reviews that seems to be an isolated problem.

Lovley bit of kit, works perfectly with my 8gb IPod touch, dont forget to get a stereo to phono leed.
