On his way to Jakeman's factory, Charlie is grabbed by Tristram Twitch, who sends him off on three dangerous errands. Charlie must find a pearl from the giant oyster beds of the Pangaean Ocean, a diamond-encrusted tiara from a mummified corpse, and a gold quill from the back of the extremely rare golden porcupine of Mayapazan. AND he has to befriend his old enemy, Thrak the gorilla along the way! If he doesn't succeed, Jakeman will be fed to a man-eating barracuda - and Charlie will NEVER get back home...!

About the Author
Charlie Small is a keen amateur explorer. His interests include swinging through jungles, cooking for pirates, puppet skills and lassoing. He is also rather handy with a cutlass, and can swim underwater without oxygen. Charlie's current whereabouts is a matter of some speculation; however, his mother assures us that he will be home in time for tea.

Customer Reviews

Fantastic bedtime reading5
I bought this to read to my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter in bed. They loved it and I really enjoyed reading it. Some parts made my daughter hide her head under the covers! Every time I tried to close the book it was met with "just one more page pleeeeeeeeese". Theres not many little boys (or girls) who don't wish for some adventures just like Charlie Small. Buy it now, you will all love it.

In the opinion of Rebecca, age 65
In this book, a boy called Charlie Small gets caught by some blood-thirsty lady pirates. He gets made a cabin boy, and then a pirate! However he soon tires of this and manages to escape by building a fantastic contraption. I would recommend this book to adventure seeking readers(6+).I thought the style (as a journal) was great, and the illustrations were fantastic.

Fantastic Charlie Small5
This book is fantastic because Charlie Small has really exciting adventures. The story is really creative and it is written as if Charlie Small is writing it himself. I would recommend this and all the other Charlie Small books. (Max, aged 7)
