Product Description

The gift of prophecy has always invited some degree of opposition and controversy. It is one of the most vivid displays of God's presence and power among his people. Many people struggle with the very concept of the validity of prophecy today. They are troubled by the possibility that God may have direct access to our minds. Greg Haslam argues that such concerns are misplaced. Following St Paul's injunction that we should be 'eager to prophesy' he considers how God speaks, and how we should hear him; how we can test and deliver a prophetic word; and how we can grow in confidence as we learn to discern what the Spirit is saying to the church.

72oz Steak5
Greg Haslam has written an amazing mountain of a book which has its foundations in scripture. Each chapter is like a different stage of a mountain - from base camp to summit - each chapter is supported by the last. The chapters all lay out clearly the integrated scriptural description and application of the prophetic gift. Each chapter will challenge your thinking and encourage you to submit your mind to the Bible. The book deals with major issues which the prophetic person will surely find difficult at some point such as accountability, rejection, frustration, discernment, interpretation, weighing, waiting, timing among others. The book encourages the prophetic person to be self controlled and alert and thoroughly accountable in order to speak humbly with authority and power.

Are you expectant and hungry for more of Gods word and the prophetic through yourself and others? This book is a massive 16oz steak challenge with a few litres of cool mountain water to wash it down with. For those who like Joseph who may have spoken too soon, this book is packed with advice and help for all Christians to learn carefully how to handle Prophetic dynamite in the correct way. I would strongly encourage leaders to read this book - as the powerful relationship between the Prophets and Apostles is often under attack as God builds his church.
