To the point?
My interest in this book was sparked after having visited Cedar Point for the first time. I looked forward to discovering the history of the park along with the promised "helpful hints" and ride descriptions. The content indeed fulfilled these basic criteria, however there was very little in the way of surprises. I had hoped to learn some interesting facts concerning the park, but any that were provided were either relatively common knowledge or somewhat mundane.
The major problem with this book is not the content however, it is the way in which the content is presented. Not only are the graphics akin to a child's colouring book, the presentation is generally messy and rather confusing. The problems continue in the actual writing. Simple sentences are badly constructed, so as to leave the reader with ambiguities or even struggling to understand the author's description. If the appalling syntax doesn't begin to grate, then the grammar and punctuation surely will. Quite how the author cannot complete a paragraph without misusing apostrophes or failing to spell a word correctly, beggars belief. Overall, the biggest surprise presented by this book is quite how it managed to get published, it is an abomination.
