Synopsis
Thoughts, prayers and readings for every day of the year, both morning and evening, with Celtic themes and inspiration, from the Northumbria Community. 'Life is a pilgrimage; and the contents of this prayer book may justly be taken as songs to sing and stories to tell along the road.' This book combines our earlier Celtic Daily Prayer and Celtic Night Prayer books, and adds to them fresh material borne out of the further development of the Northumbria Community's ways of worship in the intervening years since these books were published. The main part of the book consists of thoughts, prayers and readings for the morning and the evening of every day of the year, as well as liturgies for both normal and special occasions. There is also clear guidance on how and when to use the material in imaginative ways, and on the benefits of utilising the imagery and themes of Celtic Christianity. Other features includes complines for every day of the week, meditations for every day of the month, a calendar and resources for saints' days and festivals, as well as Holy Communion and Family Shabbat.

Remarkable resource for daily Celtic style worship
This book has been assembled over a long period of inspiration in the Northumbria Community. It is an excellent resource both for those who are exploring the Celtic way for the first time and for those who are returning to their real roots in Christ. The liturgies are inspiring even for those who do not believe in liturgy, and the daily reading are drawn from a deep well of wisdom and inspiration. What rounds this book off so well is the inspriation gained from stories of the lives of a number of historical figures in the Celtic church, such as Bede, Aidan, Columba and Cuthbert, who witnessed to the power of Christ to heal and change, often in tthe lives of heathen people. What more up to date message do we have?
A wonderful devotional guide that adds depth to daily prayer
This prayer book is exceptional,in that it introduces the user to the daily prayers times of morning, mid-day, and evening prayer, as well as many more blessings and prayerful readings. The CD that is also available enhances the work. I've been using it as a guide for the past 4 months, and have been introducing it to my United Methodist Congregation. As a Pastor, I would highly reccommend it!
