A tempting musical gourmet-minestrone ! ! !
"TF3003" was for me the best album release of 2004. In fifteen or twenty years time all the tracks will be just as fresh and memorable as they are today, and perhaps this is the secret of Jam & Spoon`s huge success, because Rolf Ellmer and Markus Loeffel have the knack of raising the standard with each release. See the Jam & Spoon logo and you are guaranteed quality and excellence, and "TF3003" is perfect proof. No two tracks are alike on this album, and it explores seemingly every musical genre. World class vocalists have put this album in a class of its own. I am only amazed at the lack of success when it comes to sales. As Germany`s finest producers put alot of personal time and effort into promoting this album on radio and TV in Germany alone, I can only assume that those "in the know" at the record company weren`t prepared to commit as much effort. A shame really as this polished album deserves much better. Highlights for me are "Cynical Heart", "Set Me Free" and "Butterfly Sign", which were also released as singles, and featured the vocal talents of Jim Kerr, Rea (sounds very Bono this track !) and the unofficial "voice" of Jam & Spoon, the lovely Plavka. There are some lovely musical phrases on each track and you`ll soon be whistling them. So much care and attention has gone into every track and the production is superb, bringing out the very best in all the artists featured. The album also contains a modern pop anthem featuring the vocal brilliance of Midge Ure. The way this track builds and is then executed shows perfectly why Rolf Ellmer and Markus Loeffel are light years ahead of the rest, and why all their peers are always having to play catch up. If you hvae to choose one album for your collection then choose Tripomatic Fairytales 3003. It is superb in so many respects and as it comes with the J&S logo you know you are assured something very special indeed. If I could give twenty stars I would - it honestly is THAT good !
