Customer Reviews
Been there, read that and ...
... I'm loving the illustrated version. Even though I keep being told that it's a children's book, yet I have noticed that these people who keep telling me that it's for children not adults are trying to borrow it!
As a Terry Pratchett/Discworld fan I found that I fell for the Nac Mac Feegle and young Tiffany Aching. When I saw there was going to be an illustrated version I ordered it immediately, had the order cancelled by Amazon due to unexpected delay, then reordered it again. I waited so long for it that I was worried when it was finally sent. However I was not let down, it's been beautifully done.
I like one of the other reviewers have now ordered my second copy due to the grubby hands of those who think it is for children only.
As fun and well written as ANY of pTerrys books
I have loved pTerrys books since an extract The Colour Of Magic first appeared in a magazine and I ran out to get a copy, and have read every book of his since. Wee Free Men has all of the sly humour and excellent writing you expect of pTerry and is WELL worth getting despite, or maybe because of, claims it 'also' appeals to younger readers.
Seriously, if you like pTerrys books you will miss out if you avoid the adventures Nac Mac Feegle and their big wee hag! With cast of such favorites as Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and introducing what will hopefully become a new set of repeat characters.
The illustrated version, just as with Eric, is a superb addition to any collection.
Yes i have read it...
Well, i HAVE read this book and in fact have just bought my second copy, the first went missing after lending it to a scottish friend! I think all of Terry Pratchetts books, childrens or older, are brilliant and this definately does not dissapoint. Set on the discworld with some reference to previous characters this book will leave you desperate to buy the two others in the series and you will no doubt find yourself reading them again and again.
So buy it now and laugh your socks off!
