Lottie Carlyle isn't looking for love when she meets her new boss, Tyler Klein. Living in a beautiful cottage with her two adorable - sometimes - kids in an idyllic village in the Cotswolds, on good terms with her ex-husband and with friends all around, she's happy enough with her lot. But Tyler's perfect for Lottie and quickly she falls for him - and he for her. Unfortunately, there's a problem. For reasons that are totally unfair, Lottie's children HATE Tyler. When a rival for Lottie's affections comes on the scene in the shape of charmer Seb, the children adore him, and he's certainly a distraction. But he's not Tyler - and he's not even at all what he seems. Lottie's got a problem - but thanks, in classic Jill Mansell style, to a tobogganing accident and a delicious series of mix-ups, all will be revealed and true love will find a way.

another mansell bit of joy
i love jill's books, i've said it before and i will say it again and again! this was another mansell winner. i havent read anything of hers for a little while because i had other books i wanted to read, but hers are always on my bookcase waiting. choosing which to read is the hardest part!
anyhow, i needed a mansell book to cheer me up and i finished this in just a couple of days. I will admit though, there were a few little things that prevented me giving it 5 stars. Like, Lottie, the main character, i didnt warm to her like i have other leading ladies. She always seemed a bit in love with herself. i mean, like when she picked her kids up from school and it rained and she split her skirt getting out of the car and it practically showed her underwear, and the red bra she wore showed through her soaked shirt. well you got the impression any mortification she supposedly felt really was secretly joy that it had happened!
Cress was a great character, i loved her relationship with JoJo. i could of slapped JoJo's parents though. And Tyler Klein was just the perfect leading man. I liked Seb too - at first! And i liked Mario a lot, he was so funny. Also didnt mind Lottie's kids until they were nasty to Tyler, if i was Lottie i would of told them she was seeing him, and they could like it or lump it. although i dont think the book would of been any longer than a couple of chapters if that had happened!
Freddie's storyline was so emotional. it was the first time i nearly cried reading a book i think. I really liked him. and liked his search for his old friends. you really hoped he managed to find those he wanted to apologise to for things that happened in the past.
I agree with some that it ended a bit quickly. but it wasnt really a dissapointing ending. it would of been much worse if there were loose ends but everything tied up pretty nicely. im now onto my next mansell book. i love her!
funny and sweet
Such a sweet and funny book. This book will have you laughing and crying in places. A true romance book for modern girls!
A bit dissapointing
I am 120 pages into this novel and, to be honest, am finding it a bit boring. So far we have been introduced to the characters, and the scene has been set, but nothing of any significance has actually happened. I find myself skim-reading the pages and wondering where it is actually going. Shame.
