Customer Reviews
Great value.
I needed a new gamepad after my old Gravis Gamepad Pro finally gave out. This was a perfect replacement - comfortable, durable, easy to handle, and inexpensive. I only occasionally play games and even then I only play sports sims, and it does the job fine on all of them except NHL '06, where it has a problem making menu navigation and control impossible (also the same with NHLs '05 and '07). Logitech's support site mentions this and says there's nothing they can do to fix it. Aside from that, it's a great basic gamepad for the money.
just like ps1 controller,great price,works on older p.c's.
i was really happy with this logitech pc pad,i ordered it because i needed a gamepad and wanted to play an old game 4 windows 98. the pad is compatible with alot of windows operating systems it even said on the box "vista compatible".its a great design, it feels/is easy to use,it has enough buttons (4 shoulder buttons, start, select etc.(same as ps1) i found it to be a great pad and its a great ps1 type pad to have aswell.
Great basic joypad
I'm personally someone who's very picky about joypads. Especially D-pads - as someone who plays a lot of older games, I really need to have a good d-pad, and get frustrated when I can't accurately use diagonals. The D-pad of this joypad, the most important component of it to me, is really good. It responds accurately, possibly feeling a little stiff at first but great once you're used to it (it may also be that it's loosened slightly with use - either way, it's a great d-pad). The other buttons are perfectly responsive. The design is pretty much a slightly curvier copy of the original Playstation joypad, with the same button layout, which itself was just a slightly modified copy of the Super Nintendo joypad. It's comfortable to hold, even for long periods of time, which can be rare for me as I personally have long fingers. It doesn't have any fancy features like turbo buttons, it doesn't even have analogue sticks, but if all you need is a basic USB joypad with D-pad, and 10 buttons (including shoulder buttons, and start and select type buttons) you can't go wrong with this, especially at this price. My Mac recognises it without the need for any drivers, I'm guessing Windows and Linux machines would also have no issues. Logitech tend to be a pretty good brand too, so I expect this joypad to remain reliable for a good long time, as I write this review I've had the pad for about 6 months.
