Customer Reviews
Good sound and mic, very sore ears!!
I dont know how these can be described as a gaming headset, most people that I know who game, do so for long periods of time, i.e. 2 or 3 hours at a time, personally I cant wear these for more than 1 hour without my ears becomming very sore, all the weight hangs on your ears, with no other support, I will be complaining to Logitech about these but wont hold my breath for any feedback, very dissapointed :(
How does this happen?
I'm so confused as to how this headset ever got beyond the drawing board of the clearly insane design engineer that conceptualised it. For me a PC headset has two main functions: 1) To sit on the users head in such a way as to ensure effective transmission of the sounds to the ear and minimise discomfort, and (2) To enable the user to transmit their own voice.
That this headset so utterly fails to perform either of these fairly simple criteria is mystifying. It fails on the first point because the ludicrous behind-the-head design means that the the cans hang off your ear-tips, causing your ears to bend downwards in a way that virtually guarantees discomfort after about 2 minutes, with severe pain setting in after any extended time duration. This design also handily leads to a totally ineffective transmission of sound because the speakers sit about 2 centimetres or so from your actual ear opening. The epitome of a lose-lose situation.
Failure on the second point is, if anything, even more mystifying and unforgivable than the ridiculous can design. Put simply, the microphone is nowhere near your mouth. A fairly obvious design requirement for a microphone you'd think, but instead Logitech have elected to have the mic sat at an indeterminate point far out in the space in front of your face. And as an added bonus, the mic is only adjustable vertically, so you have the exciting option of the mic sitting 2 inches in front of your eyes, or 3 inches in front of your neck, but never, ever, at any point being close to your mouth. Again, how this design actually got to the retail product stage is baffling. Do Logitech perhaps test their headsets on horses? Or snakes that can dislocate their jaws in order to shift their mouths to the correct position? In any case it surely isn't designed for human beings.
An utterly, utterly, shambolic design with virtually no redeeming features. Massive waste of money. Avoid like the plague.
The definitive choice for the gamer with style.
Logitech seem to be able to produce quality producs at a range of prices time and time again. This headset is possibly the best I have ever worn. Comfy, light, and sounds superb! And with 10 ft of cable your given a degree of freedom that other headsets simply dont give... and no more sweaty itchy ears!
And It looks good doing it too!
This really is a clever bit of kit, and for the price its a simple no brainer, grab one!
