Customer Reviews
Dreadfully disappointed
This was the worst book I read last year. The subject is really interesting (one woman's determined character and the complexities of sailing) but it is written in a wooden, tedious way that makes it seem dull. In parts it is so bad that it is annoying - the word "devastated" is used for the author's reaction to technical problems and again when her grandmother dies. Sloppy writing like that just shows contempt for the reader. There are so many really good writers about the sea. Avoid this one.
