Not easy reading but comprehensive - academic value at least
This is a lengthy study by the contermprary historian Gammage and is, therefore, very useful for appreciating the differences between initial interpretations and the more modern views of Thompson and Epstein. The book is comprehensive but certainly could not be described as 'condensed' or reader friendly. Essential reading if you are studying the movement at undergraduate level, however, it is probably questionable whether A Level students need to bother with this study.
