A lifesaver!
Bought the Belly Bra after seeing it recommended on various websites and have been wearing it 2 days now. It's already made my 30+ week twin bump feel loads lighter to manage and has eased my back, too. I can't wait to wear it for Pilates!
Just a word of warning about the sizing - I originally bought medium but had to send back as it was too tight on my bump and left no room for further growth - despite the product saying that my bra size was appropriate for the small. Probably more of an issue if you have a particularly big bump or are expecting multiples.
It doesn't do what it says on the tin!!!
I followed the instructions, I got the large, as it was in line with my cup size. I am a size 16
When it arrived I put it on and it did not feel like it supported my bump at all and it flattened my boobs lots (Giving them an unflattering shape). It had about the same control as a swimming cozzie. So if it was just down to these points I would have given it about 3 stars.
However, I had to knock it down to 1 as the deal clincher is that the elastic at the waist even riding on my hip bones below bump was far too tight. It was kind of okayish when standing but really constricting when sitting. Also it is deliberately made to be lower at the front than the back. I found when I tried to wear it with jeans or a skirt it totally messed up the the waist band as it rides up so much higher at the back than the front.
I had considered just going for the largest size, but if the smaller size doesn't support my bump, but just cuts me in half, I can't see that a bigger size will give me any more support for my bump. I do not have extra wide hips or bottom that would account for the tight elastic.
I got the belly bra last weekend, once I have worked out the returns policy I am sending it back. I am disappointed, I had read really good reviews for this product. My bump is getting bigger, I thought this would be the solution, it wasn't.
I got a belly band at the same time, it was a bit better. But I am thinking of just getting some lengths of lycra and knocking something up myself, or getting a couple of pretty scarves.
Excellent support but no air meant rash...
The support this belly bra offered was brilliant and really helped with the backache I'd been suffering particularly when I was out or on my feet all day. The only downside was that when I wore it for a long period of time, the band that went under my bump that provided most of the support became really itchy due to the lack of air to the skin. However I'd definitely still recommend it to any pregnant woman with backache - it really helps.
