Customer Reviews

edit: discs not readable after 1 year!!!5
Edit: I'm sorry to inform you all that none of my Traxdata discs read after about 1 year since I wrote them!!!
I apologise for misleading rating, but I also learnt the hard way about these. They are not readable on PS3 fat or slim and not on my pc drive LG GGW-H20L. Recovery programs can hardly read any data from them. Spend more money on TDK or Verbatim if you care about your data.

AVOID TRAXDATA BD-R!!!

old review:
------------------------------------------------------------------
I just thought I'd provide some info for tech users.
from atip: BD-R (Disc ID: RITEK-BR2-00) (Speeds: 2x; 4x)
While verifying read speed was 3.0x avearge, 3.9 max. All went OK.

If you have GGW-H20L, like myself, do not update the firmware to YL05! It will read and write with 1x (these blanks and generally poor performance even with bd-roms). Fortunately, I could downgrade to YL04 and everything is back to normal now. I'll contact LG, maybe they'll sort it out in the next firmware.

Seem good quality so far...4
I have burnt two discs thus far with no problems. I examined each disc visually and the die seems to be in good order. Due to the other review I tried two firmwares with my LG GGW-H20L Drive

Burn Details:

GGW-H20L YL04
Nero 8
22,472 MB Data UDF
4x speed selected.
Burn Time: 00:55:20
6,931 KB/s

GGW-H20L YL05
Nero 8
22,699 MB Data UDF
4x speed selected.
Burn Time: 00:55:24
6,992 KB/s

Neither firmware hit 4x speed of 17,980KB/s. There is not a lot in it between the two Firmwares.

Additional Comments:

Drive: LG GGW-H20L YL05
Printer: Epson PhotoStylus 950
Software: Nero 8

I have now used seven of the ten discs from the first batch I have bought. All burned correctly and verified. Print quality of the surface is good too. There is a speed issue though as noted by another reviewer. The drive burns BD-R at 6x. The discs are rated at 4x. Nero 8 offers 2x or 4x burning rate. However a full disc of multiple data files (burnt as UDF data disc) only hit a maximum speed of 1.6x and stayed mostly at 1.5x. This means a burn time of approximately 55-60 minutes for a disc.

I have bought a second set though as they are reliable. No costers.

Bad product and bad assistance1
I have LG GGW-H20L and I used 3 or 4 cakes without any problems, and then in one cake I only manage to record 5 BD-R, because the other 5 weren't recognized. I opened a new cake and recognized, so the problem was from that cake and not the recorder. That cake cost me 42 euros, that means I have 21 euros of faulty discs and contacted Traxdata support for assistance and they answered to tell me they forwarded my message to headquarters. After 2 months and many emails, I still don't have any answer. So my review is thta this is a bad product and a bad trademark. Once I had a problem with 1 DVD-R from Sony and they sent me a cake of 25. That's the difference between good brands and bad brands.
