Manufacturer's Description
Canon has poured all the Know How of its extraordinary history of developing innovative office machines into each of its copiers, printers, and networked office systems. The same superiority of design and manufacture goes into all of the Canon-branded consumable imaging supplies and parts for this equipment. Naturally, no one makes better parts and supplies for Canon products than Canon. Using genuine Canon parts and supplies is your best insurance against equipment damage, and possibly voiding your equipment warranty.
Customer Reviews
Don't Buy This Cartridge CL-38 As It's A Starter Cartridge (Low Yield)
When Canon sell you a new printer they only give you starter cartridges with it, which hold a very small amount of ink in them PG-37 black and the CL-38 colour cartridges. I was using about 3 black and 2 colours cartridge per month and it was costing me a small fortune. I later found out that Canon do a higher yield versions of the PG-37 & CL-38 cartridges which cost only a few pounds more but hold more ink in them than the starter cartridges which I was using before. What you need is a Canon PG-40 on the black which hold 16mls of ink rather than the 5mls of ink that is in the PG-37 starter cartridge and on the colour what you should be using is a Canon CL-41 which holds 12mls rather than the 5mls which is in the CL-38 colour starter cartridge. I can even go one better, I now use a company called advantage online who stock the Canon originals plus British premium compatible PG-40 and CL-41 cartridges which hold 24mls black and 24mls colour. I have used them a couple of times so far and have been quite impressed. I hope you don't fall into the Canon trap of selling a very good printer (ip1600) at a very cheap price and then trying to charge you load of money for starter cartridges which are nearly empty.
Quality from Canon

A Canon original cartridge...at a superb price; the quality of my photos is excellent; colour is vivid and realistic. After using compatible cartridges for a long time...this purchase made me realise the difference a genuine brand named cartridge makes.
