Canon Eyepiece Extender For EOS 1000D OR 450D5
Canon Eyepiece Extender For EP-EX15II - REVIEW

This is clearly the best few quid I have spent since buying my new Canon EOS 1000D, I wear glasses and part of the reason behind my purchase of the new Canon EOS 1000D was to grab hold of the new "LIVE VIEW" Technology it shares with its Bigger brother the EOS 450D.

I Thought I needed the LIVE VIEW because my glasses always seemed to get in the way of my DSLR Photography Viewfinders on the Nikon D40X and Pentax K100D, so I promised myself next time around "LIVE VIEW" must be one of my features high on my list, anyways... after owning the EOS 1000D for a few days and reading on line bloggs I discovered one could BUY the "Canon Eyepiece Extender For EP-EX15II" for both the Canon EOS 450D and Canon EOS 1000D models, people claimed it helped them take better pictures who wore glasses, by helping you line-up & frame the actual picture via the "Canon Eyepiece Extender".

(Which sounded great to me), well here I am, after attaching the Canon Eyepiece Extender, the Camera begun to get much more comfortable to hold, much more steady in the hand to take shots without the Camera wobbling in my hands and shaking against my glasses.

Now I finally feel relaxed to take a shot, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.! without having to remove my specs... because when I remove my specs my vision is blurred so I cannot see the through the normal view finder clear enough, so you see this little gadget has saved the day.! - No I don't need "Live View" every time I have to take a shot...

I seldom use LIVE VIEW... However, its a great feature to have in any modern DSLR Camera, soon all cameras will have LIVE VIEW By the end of 2009.

As for the Canon Eyepiece Extender For EP-EX15II - I cannot rate this product high enough, I'm VERY surprised its not in the Canon EOS 1000D KIT BOX as a standard feature (because so many folks wear glasses these days).

"A MUST BUY" For any serious Canon 1000D or 450D DSLR Owner who wears glasses.!

Canon EP-EX15II 5
As the other reviewer says this is a must have for anyone who wears spectacles and has a 450D or a 1000D. Makes the Camera 100% more useable...

Useful, but not perfect3
Full marks to Canon for addressing the issues faced by spectacle wearers (and those with large noses) using DSLRS. Unfortunately however this eyepiece extender does cut down the area of view. I do not know enough about the laws of optics to say whether a solution would be possible that did no do this, but this little piece of kit is certainly a step in the right direction. In view of the explosion of interest in photography arising from the increasing accessibility of high-end technology at more affordable prices, manufacturers are surely missing a trick if they do not put more energy into meeting needs of a large and growing sector of the camera-buying public.
