The hand blender comes with a stainless steel chopping shaft to liquefy and puree, a balloon whisk attachment for all your whipping needs, a mixing beaker and also a chopping bowl attachment which turns it into a mini food processor and is perfect for blending sauces, chopping fresh herbs, creating dressings and even reducing ice to slush with the ice crush attachment. With variable speed settings it will accurately mix and chop a variety of different foods quickly and easily. Just select the appropriate speed for the food that you are processessing, so use the lower speeds for lighter jobs and softer foods, and the highers speed for heavier jobs which involve mainly solid ingredients. Absolute Junk
This looks like an excellent piece of equipment, and mostly it is - other than the cruical "on/off" button you push to turn it on. This is very flimzy and got stuck in the depressed "on" position and would not push back out. This was from about the second use so that I could no longer turn it on. As you are unable to open the casing, i could not see what the problem is so had to return. Looking at the design I suspect that a replacement would not be long before a similar issue occurrs.

Don't buy this item
I agree with the previous reviewer, that this looks like it is going to be a quality product, but it really isn't. The hand blender seems to be fine but the mixing cup and blade are useless. Firstly the blade sits quite high in the blender so that it cannot chop small items. Secondly, and more importantly, it just doesn't do the job. It won't even chop a clove a garlic. I spoke to Russell Hobbs who said that I need to chop everything up into really small pieces first. Despite the fact that this defeats the object of having a machine like this, I followed their instructions and the blade still does not have enough power to go around. I found Russell Hobbs totally useless in terms of taking responsibility for this matter. Thankfully Amazon have been really helpful and are willing to refund the item.

I bought this blender just before Christmas, with the expectation that it will be used once or twice and then will just gather dust. I have been pleasantly surprised and used it to make mayonnaise, pesto, guacamole, salsa, chop nuts, pancake batter,brownies etc. It was on special offer (half price)so for the price I am very happy with the quality. I have used relatively small quantities, and found that I needed to push the food down towards the blade but it hasn't bothered me too much. This is my first blender, so I don't have anything to compare it with.
