Customer Reviews

Bose SoundDock portable5
It is awesome. There are 3 major improvements from the last one.
1) Portable with really good battery life
2) It has a line in (head phone jack sized)
3) The dock rotates into the casing to protect it.

Basically Bose took the old one and made all the improvements that were needed.

So good I bought it twice!5
Well I bought the mains version about a year ago, and fell in love with it as soon as I heard the rich superb sound that it produces. Just how do the Bose boffins manage this.

Then I discovered the battery version. Doh!

So I saved up and bought one, and it is superb, the sound is exceptional, and yes as has been said in other reviews you can use view - show equaliser in itunes to tweak the sound, but I am perfectly happy with everything as it came out of box.

Having tried the soundDock against Altec Lansing and other alternatives it is clearly the best. If only it had DAB or FM built in as well!

The battery life is good, though if you crank the volume up the battery does not hold up nearly as well.

I have no regrets at all in buying this, well just one, I wish I had known about this portable version in the first place!

Very good bit of kit, but with questionable build quality4
I bought myself this as a christmas present to myself and so far I am very very impressed with it. I had heard the regular sounddock in action before and knew how good it sounded so thought I'd give this one a go. The sound is exceptional for something so 'small and portable'. It works flawlessly with my gen 2 Nano. The battery life is awesome too quite happily running for 8 hours (probably more!) at a nice volume for background listening. The only thing Im not impressed with is the flimsy rotating tray that the ipod locates in. It feels really cheap, plasticy, and has loads of sloppy play, to the extent that with the weight of the ipod sat on it it tilts to the right by a good 5 degrees, spoiling the apearance of it. The rest of the body is much better but still not solid by any means.
Close your eyes and listen to it and it almost makes up for it though :)
