very disappointed
After having two sons and 4 nephews all under 5 there are not many toys on the market that i havent bought! I think this has been the biggest let down of them all! I paid £170 for the thomas and didnt mind one bit! it looked good, loads of fun and was sure my son would love it! I got him it for his 2nd birthday. He was 3 and a half before he could hold the button down for any length of time! The way the thomas goes around the corners makes the train tip and my child has fell of several times (despite sitting properly on it!) Two pieces of the track itself was broken within the week, as the connections are not very durable! I still have the train (the track went to the tip), but it is used as a feature in his thomas covered bedroom - the novelty value wore off very fast! His ride-on thomas has had far more use and was £150 cheaper!

Durability and cost is definetely not worth it! Spend your money on something else!

Great idea, poor design
My son aged 2 loves Thomas and I thought this would be a great present for him. However, there is a major flaw in the design which is that in order to get the train to go, the children have to hold down a hand-sized button on the handle. Unfortunately this is too difficult for children of the age who find this toy fun. Even my 3 1/2 year old and her friends can't do it for long so the train doesn't go very far before it stops. The only option is then for an adult to hold the handle down, and as the track is circular you end up getting dizzy. The upshot is it hardly gets any use as I don't like holding the button down and the children can't do it for themselves. Waste of money, quite frankly.

I am very disappointed with the service and product received via mamas&papas.

My son is nuts about Thomas and I thought this would make an ideal birthday present.

The item was ordered with lots of time to spare for my childs birthday. It arrived and was broken beyond repair from the front. I contacted the number for returns and spend 20+ minutes waiting for someone to answer. Eventually, an agent answered and agreed to send a replacement and labels so I could return the damaged item. The item was duly retuned with no issues and the new item was received in time for my childs birthday. However, when the item was opened it was in a worse state than the previous delivery, the front was smashed, there was no sound function as someone had overlooked adding a speaker to the internal component (how did it pass quality control?), more seriously the battery leaked acid inside the toy, I had to dispose of the battery as this could have seriously injured my child. I have mailed mamas&papas for a refund (I paid via Amazon voucher) and to collect the item - no joy!!!! IN SUMMARY NOT A GOOD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE - THOUGHT THIS WAS A NAME I COULD TRUST - I WAS WRONG!
