Pocket money fun cars
A real return to form for Lego. 3 models in one set means inventive reuse of bricks in each model, and each one is very well designed with some lovely details, like the flip-up bonnet on the truck. The plastic box snaps shut and keeps everything tidy. Unlike the plane in the same series, LEGO® Creator 6741: Mini Jet, the truck won't fit back in the box whole, it has to be taken apart slightly to fit.
It does have some very small parts and can be a bit fiddly, but my 5.5 year old nephew managed it with only a little bit of help from me. The printed instructions are good, but they saved space making it easy to miss the end of one model and the beginning of the next.
And who knew that the thing with a long lifting arm was called a teleloader?
Cheap, brilliant, portable fun for all
I've just spent the afternoon with my 3 year old and this kit. The manufacturers recommended age is over 6, and I certainly wouldn't have left my little boy on his own with this as it includes some tiny pieces and would be far too tricky for him, but together, we had great fun. He helped me by picking out some of the pieces that we needed to build each model (there are instructions for 3 variations in the pack), and putting them into place. These vehicles are for the most part symmetrical, so if I did one side, he was able to do the other to match. We chatted about the number of "bumps" on each brick, about their colours, about which design we liked best and so on. He had a bit of a play with each model, then we took the thing to pieces, and put the entire kit back into its sturdy plastic box for another day.
An older child could construct the models on their own, and make up their own designs, you could try timing yourself to see how quickly you could build each model, you could see whether you could recreate a design without looking at the instructions!
Loads of fun to be had here for less than £4 and we've just ordered the Lego Creator Mini train kit!
I would thoroughly recommend this for small people and big ones alike!
great for the price
Worked brilliantly with a group of teenagers showing them the value of instructions/law/wisdom when i had 2 of these packs one with the instructions and one without. Beyond that i have it on my desk now and have endless fun seeing what i can make. Not what you would expect from a 34 year old but it does take me back!
