all good fun
the only real issue i have with this toy is the annoying voice it speaks with - but that seems to be the case with all childrens toys these days...
i bought this for my 4yr old for christmas and he has thoroughly enjoyed playing with it so far. it comes with a useful workbook but to be honest we haven't looked at that bit too well at the moment as he has just enjoyed playing the various games instead. i think there is already a notable difference in he recognition of letters (he was having difficulty grasping the different shapes for upper/lower case). he has flown through the maths games which really pleased him!
overall i say this is an excellent, cheap, fun and educational toy - and it has the all important volume control so we don't have to have the annoying voice quite so loud!
V- tech my first laptop
purchased as a gift for my daughters 5th birthday she loves this as does her sisters aged 2 and 8 the games are clear and easy to understand with clear simple vocal as well as visual instructions. The only critism is the voice is american and there is no way of attaching the mouse pad to the left hand side although it can be used on either side due to being attached in the middle of the back. It has a large range of educational games for key stage 1 (literacy and numeracy) and they are fun so your child learns without realising they are doing so I would recomend this toy for ages 4-6 but any child under 10ish would, I'm sure, enjoy it.
Good educational toy, but having to buy a second one
I feel a bit riduculous having to purchase a second one. It has worked wonders with my daughter; who is performing above average for her age partly because of this toy. If only it still worked...I would still have 17 quid in my purse! WHY does it have such a low durability. The keys don't work anymore, the mouse does its own thing! Very very frustrating for my daughter and I.
