Customer Reviews
Sonicare 9000 Toothbrush
I purchased a pair of 9000 series toothbrushes nearly two years ago. They are the best electric toothbrushes I have come across but not perfect, which I doubt if there is such a beast! The results are self evident when I go for a clean & scrape now as before my teeth needed a lot of descaling. The only drawback is the head and inner compartment which clog up with stuff and go moldy as the other reviewer says. However there is a cure with an added expense! I use steradent cleaning tablets and immerse the head (detached) and the top half of the motor unit in a cup of water and leave overnight and it does the trick OK.
Mouldy smell
Although this tooth brush cleans your teeth brilliantly , the heads trap water in them and it then starts to stink of mould , poor design that needs fixing. What i do is poor listerine in the place where the water is trapped to kill the bacteria .
Keeping clean
I've had my sonicare for 2 years and never have to have any plaque removed when I have a scale & polish. After using I unscrew the top and rinse under the cold tap, I also rinse the handle bit and leave on the bathroom windowsill to dry. Doing it this way means it doesn't go mouldy for approx a month and it has never ever been smelly or gungy.
