Best Shaving Technique Move the shaving heads over the skin, making both straight and circular movements. Shaving on a dry face gives the best results. Power/charging It takes 1 hour to fully charge the 8200 Series shaver. A fully charged shaver has a shaving time of up to 70 minutes, which is enough for approx. 45 mins of charging. The battery-low indication warns you some time before the batteries are completely exhausted. The shaving time left after the the battery-low indication is shown should be regarded as backup capacity. The amount of backup capacity depends on the condition of the batteries, the ambient temperature and whether the general battery maintenance precautions are being observed.

Excellent
This is an excellent buy. I have being using a Philips Rorary shavers now for over 40 years. Most of the shavers have been satisfactory. However the previous two models were not satisfactory. My last model was an XL. I never liked it from day one. It did not feel right or shave well. It stopped completely after 2 and half years and that was that. I researched the other manufacturers product before buying again and when I considered everything I decided to give Philips one more try. Its hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

I decided to buy the HQ8260 rather than the HQ8290 which has the added cleaning system. A 4 hour cleaning routine is highly impractical. When I used the HQ8260 for the first time I knew immediately I had made the right choice. The balance of the shaver in your hand in good. The shave is smooth and efficient. I always judge a shaver by how well it shaves my neck. The HQ8260 is about a good as it gets with an electric saver. It is easy to clean manually under the tap. I would highly recommend the HQ8260.

Philips HQ8260 Speed XL2 Rotary Male Rechargeable Shaver
Having had an old phillishave for 20+ years, I replaced it with the HQ8260. It's quieter but that's beacuse the blade speeds appear slower than my old shaver. My initial impression was that shaving was a bit slower because of this, however having used it for several weeks, the shave may be a bit slower but it is certainly closer and better with the floating heads. Hope this one lasts 20+ years!
