If you are looking for a destination in the UK simply enter the postcode (up to 7 digits) followed by the street name and you’re done. When going abroad, depending on the country you may enter first the postcode but the address will be of primary importance.

You can choose 2D (flat view) or 3D (angled view) navigation modes. In any case, voice guidance (male or female) will guide you through in advance so that you can keep your eyes on the road whilst being alerted to the presence of speed cameras as this comes pre-installed. You will be automatically re-routed if you miss one step.

Looking for a specific location or venue ? No problem – just fill in the address and choose the Point of Interest category (parking, petrol stations, restaurants, hotels, etc.) and find the closest location from where you are/plan to go.

Cheap and basic
I bought this for Christmas. It works fine has no problem finding satellites but the mapping is not very up to date. For example a local junction where the right turn was prohibited over 20 years ago, you guessed it the satnav tells you to turn right. It also keeps trying to send me through a deep ford and there is no way of blocking this route but it does quickly re-calculate when I take the road to avoid it. Also a local hotel which closed 3 years ago and is now a housing development is listed in the POI's.
Finally you can't yet purchase the AC mains adaptor or the Traffic add on and the website states 2008 maps will be available soon.

Binatone service well below standard
I got this satnav for my birthday and it was faulty (it wasn't able to locate the user). I contacted Binatone first through their website regarding the TMC in the hope they would give me information regarding this as you generally can't find the product in the stores. They never responded.

After bringing it back to the store (not Amazon) as the signal was still insufficient. it took Binatone 5 weeks (eventhough we weretold 2 weeks) to correct the error. They replaced it instead of fixing the existing system, but replaced it with the UK/ROI version instead of the European one.

If you're looking for a system that will also come with aftercare in case something goes wrong, I would suggest staying away from Binatone products.

Disappointing
Budget price and budget performance. No problem receiving a signal, but often slow to update progress on route. Late with voice commands: on several occasions I had passed the turning before the instruction to turn was issued. Complicated to change volume once driving: you have to exit "map" and go to "settings". many other user aspects not well thought through. Not a good investment.
