Breville JK15 Lightening Kettle
We recently bought this kettle after a couple of years of a stainless steel top of the range De Longhi kettle. That one was noisy and slow, and difficult to fill. It was also hard for our daughter to lift the lid! This kettle has been a revelation to us. It is attractive to look at, easy to fill, and boils quickly. It has a see-through part to easy spot the water level - and is also internally illuminated with a soft blue light. There are red lights around the exterior to show when it is switched on to boil. An added feature of the kettle is a 'keep warm' button - upon selection, it will keep the water temperature at 77c until switched off again. It is easy to clean and maintain. I highly recommend it.

Great Kettle
This kettle has a very modern design, and looks very hi-tec. More importantly, it performs brilliantly. It boils very quickly with the 3.1kw concealed element; the jug style means less worktop space used; it can be spout filled with no dribbles; the very secure feeling, soft-touch handle is comfortable to hold, and well away from the spout, avoiding steam scalds; the see through sides make judging the amount of water inside very easy; there is a secure fitting filter that actually works. It also has a keep warm facility (70 watts) which we find very useful at breakfast time. The inside lights up with with a pleasant blue glow, which I guess is just an alternatve to the more old fashioned red neon light of older kettles. Never thought I'd be so impressed by a kettle!

It all boils down to.....
When I first saw the details of this kettle I thought why on earth would anyone want (or need) a kettle that had flashing lights (unless they had hearing or vision problems of course).
A kettle's just a kettle right?
But I thought I would trust the previous reviewers opinions, and get one for myself as i wanted a fast boiling kettle with a filter.

This kettle ticks all the right boxes - even though I have to admit it had me reminiscent of one of those boy racer cars with the blus lights underneath when I first switched it on!
I thought the flashing lights would annoy me, but they don't, they are actually quite reassuring in a strange kinda way.

The main points are: it has a large capapcity, boils the water very quickly, has a flat element that makes cleaning inside very easy, is very easy to fill - and the clear part is great for seeing into the unit, and unlike another reviewer, I find it much quieter than my previous kettles.
And most importantly, as usual, Amazon have it cheaper than other places(around £10 cheaper)!
